Fences is an emotional play revolving around a black family living in Pittsburgh, PA in the 1950’s-60’s. It follows Troy Maxson, an ex-baseball player and father, as he navigates life and its struggles with his wife and two sons. This play confronts themes of racial discrimination, family conflict, and shows the effects of choices that Troy makes that cause emotional rifts between himself and his wife and children.
